Just boil about 40 fresh leaves with flowering tops (10 grams) in 3 cups of water for 15 to 20 minutes until you get 1 glass of the greenish tea solution. Drink while warm and the dose are good for one day’s use to be taken twice.

3. Oregano

Oregano leaf infusion is a cure for asthma. Juice from leaves with added sugar is given to children with respiratory sicknesses like cough, asthma and bronchitis. Just boil two cups water for every handful of dried material or three handfuls of fresh ones. Cover for 15 to 20 minutes, strain and sweeten with sugar if desired.

4. Kampanitulot

Kampanitulot decoction or wine infusion of the whole plant is prescribed for recurrent fever. The juice of 20 to 40 leaves, extracted with water and a little wine is good for children with coughs, colds and asthma.

5. Lagundi

Lagundi is very famous in the Philippines because its leaves, flowers, roots and seeds is an effective herbal medicine. Just boil 5 to 6 dried leaves or 8 to 10 fresh leaves of lagundi in one glass water for 15 minutes or until you get ½ glass of the solution. Strain and give ¼ to ½ glasses every four hours to adults.

6. Alagaw

Alagaw plants are known for its very effective herbal properties. Just boil 8 to 10 fresh or dried leaves of alagaw in 8 glasses water for 15 minutes and strain. For adults, recommended is one glass of the mixture for four times a day.

7. Gumamela

Most of us think that gumamela is just an ordinary flower but let me tell you that this ordinary plant is an effective herbal medicine. In fact, gumamela plant is an expectorant which means tea made from red gumamela flowers is an effective cough medicine for bronchitis.

8. Sambong Leaves

The Philippine Government has considered sambong plant as an effective herbal medicine that can cure a lot of ailments. Sambong leaf decoction is a medicine to treat symptoms of common cough and cold. Just take one glass every four hours.
